This time a year there are all kinds of different awards in all different fields and they all mean different (or similar) things. Some winners are arrived at by committee, some by a single person, some by an electoral system where the most votes don’t necessarily win, as demonstrated in last year’s election, and some by the popular vote. That’s how the Berrics Populist award is done. You get to vote on who you think killed it the most in 2017 and he who gets the most votes wins. This year, @clivejdixon had the last part in @birdhouseskateboards's highly anticipated full-length, #BirdhouseSaturdays (he turned pro at the premiere screening. During the months leading up to the video’s release, he was a PR machine, relentlessly promoting the project with boundless energy. Clive’s drive has given him a reputation as an invaluable hype man on Birdhouse seshes; he employs yelling, screaming, hooting, and hollering to crank up the motivation just a little more. As you can see in the team’s livestreams and montages from Saturdays, Clive’s influence gets results. (He also joined @rictawheels' elite team this year.)
