I Must Be The Luckiest Girl In The World:
How do we measure a year? With a number? 1995, 2000, 2017, 2018, 2020, 2030, 3000? There will always be another year, another number. And that number wont change anything, there will still be war, famine, poverty, cancer, struggle... and far beyond when everything as we know it is gone, there will still be more “years”; time will always go on. So instead of measuring this year with a number, I want to measure it in moments. “Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.” And this is how I am certain that I must be the luckiest girl in the world. Because my year has consisted of countless wonderful moments that left me constantly trying to catch my breath. Because of you, my sponsors, my competitors, my fans, my friends, my family, my Love, you all have touched my life in a way that I can’t even begin to repay, and I can’t express my gratitude enough. I will forever be grateful for the time, the effort, the passion, the love, the trust, the work that you all put into the task of helping me make my dreams come true. When I am done ski racing, I will not look back on my career as a number of wins or records- instead, I will look back on my career as a series of incredible moments with all the incredible people and brands around me that made this whole journey so much more special than simply ski racing. You make everything worth it, the ups and downs, the triumphs and failures, and every moment in between. And I am so happy and thankful that we are on this journey together. Happy New Year!
