This time of year there are all kinds of different awards in all different fields and they all mean different (or similar) things. Some winners are arrived at by committee, some by a single person, some by an electoral system where the most votes don’t necessarily win, as demonstrated in last year’s election, and some by the popular vote. That’s how the Berrics Populist award is done. You get to vote on who you think killed it the most in 2017 and he who gets the most votes wins. @ルーイ・ロペス is quite obviously one of this year’s nominees. He won Tampa Pro in March. Spitfire released highly flammable part as did Volcom. He was recently added to the Beats by Dre and New Era teams and his social media posts are as prolific as anything he’s put out this year or won. Louie’s cachet extends beyond the core skateboarder demo. This is why Louie's in the running for this year's Populist.
