In 1995 I was a student, performance artist, and aspiring novelist with few thoughts about being part of the film industry when @lloydkaufman offered me $150 to write a screenplay for a movie called Tromeo & Juliet. I thought it was a ridiculous concept, but I took the job and gave it every bit of creativity and effort I had to offer - and, along the way, fell in love with making movies.
