A snippet from yesterday at a curiously eclectic coffee shop. We spent the day meandering through odd towns and country roads, and sheds full of old treasures left behind. We discovered that one of our favorite antique malls, which has been around longer than my lifespan, is closing its doors for good. A sad discovery but we were grateful to be able to romp through its nooks and crannies for one last go. And though it was bitterly frigid, it was also extra beautiful with golden sunshine smiling down.

Aside from posting a few quick stories, I spent most of the day off grid. I need to remember to do that more. What an odd space the online earth is sometimes. Mostly inspiring, encouraging, beautiful and wildly creative. But nevertheless odd with limitations of screen life versus real time perspectives, quick sizing up, quick labels, quick (mis)perceptions, quick follow, quick unfollow. It feels unnatural and strange in a sense. But I suppose the human experience is peculiar and perplexing in itself too. All that to say that a little time off does wonders, connecting with people in real life even if it’s just a random conversation with a stranger is irreplaceable, I’m thankful for reminders that we’re more alike as human beings than not, and that goodness can be found anywhere beginning with each of us.

I hope that the last days of the year are among the most wonder-full and peace-filled. Thank you all for walking alongside me in mine with such grace, kindness and cheer. May 2018 bring the best and most meaningful of moments, blessings and adventures yet. ❤️
