Watched a small but nice movie: Peter Masterson’s “The Only Thrill” (1997). Sam Shepard and Diane Keaton (@ダイアン・キートン) live in rural Texas but are unable to express their emotions, to commit to each other. Until it’s too late? No spoilers here, haha! Moreover, their kids (Diane Lane and Robert Patrick (@ロバート・パトリック)) also meet - to make the same mistakes as the parents? The casting of this movie is spot on, down to the minor characters. I was happily surprised to see Brad Leland here. He has since played the role of a lifetime as Buddy Garrity in the excellent TV series “Friday Night Lights” - the flamboyant local business man (a Texan car salesman!), loudmouth, drinker, womaniser and jerk. “The Only Thrill” was shot in Lockhart (TX), where plenty of movies were filmed, so I’m told by Wikipedia. In my opinion, this is the kind of film that people should watch during the holiday season.
