THE SIMPLE PLAN FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES $200 000 IN DONATIONS FOR 2017
As it has done annually since its inception, the @simpleplanfdn has announced this year’s list of recipients. 25 charitable organizations dedicated to helping young people will receive contributions for a total sum of of $200 000, bringing donations to well over two million dollars since the band started the Foundation.
2017 has been an extremely active year for the group, with well over 100 concert dates all over the world, but 2017 also marked the absence of one of the band’s founding members @daviddesrosiers , who had to leave the tour due to a major depression.
This unfortunate situation deeply affected the remaining members of the band, and as a result they decided to include various organizations working with mental illness awareness and treatment to the list of recipients this year.
The Simple Plan Foundation continues to support many organizations working with sick children, as well as those dedicated to helping young people in need. At the same time it continues to fund musical education programs as well as various scholarship programs in order to help less fortunate music students pursue their dreams.
The band members and all volunteers involved with the Foundation would like to take this opportunity to give heartfelt thanks to all fans & supporters without whom none of this would be possible. For every concert ticket sold anywhere in the world, one dollar / one Euro is donated directly to the Foundation. We thank you for your amazing support!
