“Tiny Toto has stolen all our hearts, but Sala is particularly smitten. Despite the fact that she barely got to know her own mother – Sala was orphaned at just one week old – the kudu’s maternal instincts are strong and she has taken it upon herself to look after Toto. The baby dik-dik loves all the attention and is becoming rather spoiled!
We are currently raising Sala and Toto at our Kaluku Field HQ. When they’re old enough, both orphans will be reintegrated back into nearby wild herds, but between now and then, we foresee lots of pampering in their futures.”
