Law enforcement officials respond to the scene of an explosion near #TimesSquare in #NewYork on Monday. A suspected terrorist detonated a potentially deadly “improvised low-tech explosive device” inside a #subway passageway during the morning rush hour, injuring himself and three other people and causing chaos at one of the city’s key traffic hubs. The #explosion happened in a long underground passageway that runs a full city block under 42nd Street between 7th and 8th Avenues. The 7:20 a.m. blast caused smoke to fill the passageway, which was crowded with commuters.
