At almost 12 years old my sweet boy Frank only weighs a few pounds. He was the runt of the litter when he was born and then was starved. When I found him in Toronto at three months old he was only 400 grams. The combination of malnourishment and neglect gave him early onset glaucoma and he began going blind and never grew bigger than a kitten. Around age 3 his asthma kicked in and when a vet nearly killed him she also accidentally shaved off one of his nipples. All that said he is by far the sweetest smartest pet I have ever known. He plays fetch, he makes plastic bags into capes and runs around til he catches air, he hunts bugs and then falls in love with them and takes care of them. A year ago I packed him in an RV with his brother and took him to the ocean and rock climbing and deep into the forest. We drove up and down the PCH and he soaked up the wonder of Big Sur and felt the ocean on his now grey whiskers for the first time. Just is just a note to say I love you Frankie boy.
