These are the moments, hiking with your wife, looking around knowing that this red clay has been like this for thousands of years, natives living off these badlands, more plant life than anywhere else yet it has that feeling that you’re inside a painting being lead by somebody’s brushstrokes, so you throw off all the clothes, you know you’ll see someone along the way, maybe the cops will come, helicopters, sirens, noise, or maybe a pack of mustangs might come out from around the hill and trample you down into the desert dust hoof by hoof or maybe we’ll just keep walking appreciating what it was like before the world went aflame, the moon fell in the ocean, and tidal waves swallowed us in one fell swoop.
