i’ve never had more respect for a woman’s body before, especially my own. i feel like we’re taught to do whatever we need to do to “look good” from such a young age. no matter what... i don’t even remember thinking twice about it. between body image, skincare, shaving, dieting, working out, styling, angles, lighting, contouring, and posing just right we don’t tend to put our health first. we don’t tend to worry about what’s inside more than what’s outside.... then all of a sudden we’re pregnant and EVERYTHING changes. our body becomes a little hotel for someone we’re going to raise and love more than ourselves... and just like that, on it’s own, in spite of us and all of our bad habits, our body grows a human, perfectly. taking only what it needs, requesting what it wants, not allowing in what’s bad, growing where it wants to, safely creating each part of a person and in this temporary place for it to grow. one, two, five, seven, eight months go by and dr tells me now it’s almost time. wow. all of a sudden, it’s ok i was so sick, it’s ok i was sad, it’s ok i was scared, it’s ok i gained so much weight, it’s ok everything hurt, it’s ok it was so challenging, it’s ok i didn’t understand how it was all happening, its ok i cried so much, it’s ok i dont know what happens next, it’s almost time, she said. it’s almost time ??
