"Sat out in the biting cold in #Yosemite last spring to take a time-lapse, but ended up liking the one-off frames a bit better. C'est la vie. To make this look, I capture an exposure at dusk when there's still a decent amount of #light, leave the #camera on the tripod for a few hours, then shoot an exposure after all light is gone from the horizon. I then use the previous exposure to restore parts of the foreground that are lost to darkness in the star capture.
