Red river hogs like this one photographed at the @columbus_zoo are the most vibrant of all pigs. They’re named for their red coats and their fondness of wading in the rivers and streams of Africa. Using their tusks, feet and neck glands, these pigs mark their territory and frequently used paths. Dominant males will resolutely defend their harem from both other pigs as well as potential predators.
