I admire her story...
She's had to endure so much adversity. From living in the Favelas of Brazil, not knowing if dance was a career path she would want to choose (in Brazil, arts are not revered as a career choice) to finally choosing to pursue her dream, leaving the country she was born in to come to NYC and follow her voice! She then had to live and work in NYC, go to rehearsals where she dealt with adversity because of her skin color, her hair, even the way she styled her hair, caused her so much adversity. She didn't even speak English at 18 when she came to the US but she stayed the course, stayed committed and is now breaking barriers, and continues to evolve within and outside the ballet world! She was the first Black Brazilian dancer to be featured on the cover of Pointe magazine and is so proud of that moment. As a woman of color and as a dreamer! She's incredible and I’m sooo proud of her!! ??#ShesAKing .
