I’ve had this ep of #SoulTrain for THE LONGEST. Why am I just realizing the GOD #RayDavis ?(yeah the #teartheroofoffthemothersucker guy) did a stint in #Zapp? This also officially makes #GeorgeClinton the only member of #Pfunk to never have been on the show. Even stranger is ALL of the nucleus members have been on the show for non #Parliament #Funkadelic projects: Hazel/Tiki/Bern/Bootsy/Fuzzy/Calvin/Hampton/Junie/Nelson/Silva/Fred/Catfish/Maceo/Mosson/Grady/Mudbone/Wynne/Mabry—but man...Davis’ bass work was only rivaled by #MelvinFranklin of the Tempts (when Franklin passed in 95, Davis was his replacement) actually now that I think about it, THAT IS DAVIS’ distinctive growl of a voice on Zapp’s #ICanMakeYouDance—-while I think of it, PLEASE check #YoureAFishImAWaterSign & marvel at HOW LOW he sings “can we get down” on the #MotorBootyAffair album. Man they don’t make em like this no more.
