What do you think of trad climbing routes that are bolted? I see more and more bolted sport climbs these days, that could easily be climbed with natural gear. On one hand, chopping the bolts is not always the best solution (has been proved in the past), on the other hand it seems odd to fiddle in a cam right beside a bolt. A good example is 'China Doll' (photo @jonglassberg), which has a bolted first half and a trad second half, but can be climbed on trad gear entirely.
Often the first ascentionist decides whether to place bolts or not, but what if he makes a 'wrong' decision?
