This tiny marsupial is called a Kowari. They are primarily nocturnal animals and can be found bounding from burrow to burrow in Australia searching for small rodents, lizards, birds or eggs to snack on. Their bodies grow to only 18 cm in length with tails that can reach 14 cm. These little creatures communicate through vocalizations like hissing and chattering, as well as swift, angry tail motions. They are currently listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List, mainly due to huge increases in livestock grazing, introduced predators, and deaths by vehicles as more roads are built through their habitats.
