Tonight the Hollywood Foreign Press unveiled Simone Garcia Johnson (@simonegjohnson), daughter of Dwayne Johnson and Dany Garcia, as this year’s Golden Globes Ambassador. The announcement came from HFPA President Meher Tatna and former honorees @sophiastallone, @システィーン・スタローン, and @scarletstallone.

To celebrate the 75th Anniversary the HFPA voted to update what was formerly known as Miss/Mr. Golden Globe into the re-named Golden Globes Ambassador, expanding the role to embody the HFPA’s philanthropic work throughout the year. At her unveiling tonight Simone announced that she is partnering with GlobalGirl Media, an organization that helps empower young women in journalism from disadvantaged areas by providing them the tools they need to become journalists and the opportunity to use their voices.
