She Says: I don’t like that friend of yours.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
She means: Sometimes I think you forget that I am your oldest friend, our relationship started at the moment you were born and we’ve been through a lot together. You have made so many other friends now and you talk about things together that I don’t fully understand. What I do understand is that I’ve made many friends over the years too and have learned that being hurt by someone you trust is the most painful thing in the world. So I’m just saying, as your oldest and dearest friend, be careful who you trust.

She says: What happened to that girl? I liked her.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
She means: When you bring home someone you’re in love with, it’s a mixed feeling for me. Seeing you happy makes me happy beyond belief, on the other hand, if you fell out of love, I know how much that fall can hurt. Each time you introduce me to your newest love, I know you’ve been through that fall again. I just want to remind you that if you settled down, it’ll be a great comfort to me and you.

She says: You were so cute...when you were a kid.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
She means: When you were small, you gave me your trust completely. You believed everything I said and even when I dressed you up like a cute little animal and took you out, you never said a word. To me that was the most precious of times. Now, god forbid me buying you anything to wear and going shopping together is totally embarrassing to you. You have your own opinions now, but once upon a time you thought I knew best and we were both happy beyond belief weren’t we?

She says: We never needed that when we were kids.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
She means: You work really hard and it never seems to be enough. I feel it because when you get busy, you hardly get in touch and it seems like you get in touch less and less. There’s always the newest phone, watch, car that you need to get. In my day we never had any of that and got by just fine. These things aren’t really what’s important and gathering them is certainly not what I remember when I look back at my fondest memories through life.
