"Whether working to make the Grand Landscape image, with sharp and detailed depth of field from the flowers at your feet to the peaks on the horizon, or exploring the Intimate Landscape from the world of macro up through compressed telephoto imagery, remember that making the observer feel they're in that image space is the goal. Great Light is the key to succeeding in Landscape, as you can have a dynamic composition with superb graphic elements but without Light that sings your images won't either. So scout the location and determine your angles, lens choice and time of day, and then return when the Light is best, and wait, and react. It may take multiple sessions to get that supreme moment when the Light activates your composition, but it's worth the waiting.
