Today The Duke of Cambridge attended @metpolice_uk's Passing Out Parade. 182 new recruits from the Met's Police Academy graduated today – an important moment for every new officer and their family.
The Duke joined Police Commissioner Cressida Dick and Chief Superintendent Penny Banham to take the salute and inspect the Parade. The ceremony at Hendon has been taking place since the 1930's and celebrates the moment a trainee police officer becomes a probationer.
The Duke congratulated graduating officers and then planted a tree in the memorial garden to commemorate his visit to this year's parade.
