as an empath, my whole life I have felt deep pain + awakenings for others. when my sister and I spent time in the mountains of Kōyasan with monks, when I stayed with the monks in Shikoku Island, there was much to learn.
the devotion of love. prayer and selflessness to be of service to the world.
New York City is my home.
Yesterday, today, it hurts.
The hearts that are broken today, they will need healing, life's golden repair.
I've chosen to step away from trends, vanity, from tv and from what may be deemed as "'mainstream media" so that I am able to study what our ancestors have taught us. I spend my last few years doing what was not popular and what didn't pay any bills.
Peace, resilience, love, strength. Beauty that shines from within.
Many people I interviewed this year survived the war.
Many have lost, many have struggled, but all have come out resilient. My love and undeniable attraction to NYC and each of us here, is that we never play small, we never stand down + we always stay resilient.
Much like the Japanese we share devotion to our work and for the people. What the monks taught me, was to endlessly love & pray for others, to look away from exterior & to work on the inside.
