Actual footage of us getting out of bed this morning... ? Just kidding, clearly this is a #turtle; in fact, it's a female who's just laid her eggs on the sandy shores of @heronisland in the @southerngreatbarrierreef and is heading back out to the ocean. It's currently turtle nesting season on this beautiful @queensland island; hundreds of green and loggerhead turtles return here each year to lay their eggs in late spring and early summer. In December, the hatchlings will start to emerge from their eggs and make their way down to the big ol' blue. It's quite an incredible sight!
