Many of you have asked what you can do to help the #Rohingya in Myanmar. Above is a list of organizations doing great work both on the ground and in the halls of power. They need your support.
• @doctorswithoutborders is doing their great work on the ground in Myanmar & Bangladesh.
•Refugees International continues to be
a credible and powerful voice in Congress and in media.
•@UNFPA has been on the ground in Bangladesh serving refugee women & girls desperately in need of help.
• @fortifyrights has been a vital voice throughout the entire crisis; they are fearless advocates.
•@bracworld is a wonderful local NGO on the ground in Bangladesh. They are doing great work.
•MOAS is recently established in the region but known for doing great work in the Mediterranean during the (ongoing) Syrian refugee crisis.
•In addition to donating to and raising awareness for these orgs, it is incredibly important that we keep talking about this crisis. Media will report on what continues to drive viewership and readership and this crisis is far, far from over. These refugees will need help, from these and other orgs, not just now but 6 months from now and a year from now, etc.
•We must also reach out to our elected officials and DEMAND that they add their voices to those of Senators McCain, Merkley & Cardin. Sanctions must be imposed on Myanmar and the military & civilian officials responsible for the ongoing genocide must be held to account by the international community.
