Seconds before mom has a meltdown. When lion cubs are born female lions go into isolation to protect the litter. They are solely responsible for the cubs for the first few months and it’s a vulnerable time for predators that can easily kill the cubs if discovered. You can see how thin this lioness is here, hunting alone and sharing the kill among a litter of 6 is no easy task. At this stage these cubs here have yet to meet the pride, their brimming, playful energy is taken out on their siblings and of course, mom.
