As some 5,000 firefighters continue to battle 10 active fires in northern California, authorities have raised the tally of houses, businesses and other structures that have been lost to at least 8,400. Days earlier, the figure stood at 7,700. With a death toll of at least 42, the wine country wildfires that ravaged the region—notably the Tubbs Fire that destroyed the Coffey Park neighborhood of Santa Rosa, seen in this aerial video by @frostjeff—are now the deadliest spate of wildfires in the state's history.
