Yesterday warmed my heart so much! ?It reminded me how much I missed being in the classroom and how we tend to forget the importance of education. We are able to shape the future right now and we must take responsibility for improving the state of education in all communities!! I started working with @jumpstartkids1 while in college and saw how firsthand our work in the classroom helped students in lower income areas make necessary gains. In lower income areas children start kindergarten 60% behind there more affluent peers. When children start behind they tend to stay behind; a child not reading at grade level by the end of 3rd grade is 4x more likely to drop out of high school. A child's success in school starts early and we must provide quality early childhood education to ALL children regardless of socioeconomic background.
