This month I had the opportunity to write a personal essay for @instylemagazine. The link is in my bio & I chose to talk about the importance of self love. As women we are constantly comparing ourselves to others. Why do we find ourselves comparing our looks and bodies to other women? Where does this idea come from that our body should look a certain way? That 'this' is sexy or 'that' is what fit is supposed to look like. Being a child of the 80's I grew up seeing a lack of diversity and representation. The runways & magazines were flooded with a similar type of woman. The problem with lack of representation in the media is that as a woman you feel like you have NO place. Because if you aren't like them then that must mean you are not pretty, not sexy, and not beautiful. In my article I explore this issue & talk about the change I have seen over the years.

The women I see on magazine covers now are so different than when I was going up. Do we still have some way to go as a society, absolutely. But just seeing more of a representation reinforces what I now know, that it's ok to be you! It's beautiful to be you! ❤️Link in bio!
