One of the things I've been thinking about lately, is that when it comes to Instagram and my blog, I tend to hide behind the adorableness of my kids. It's much easier to post cute pictures of Mazzy and Harlow or talk about them to excess than to turn the focus on myself. I read an awful comment about mom bloggers once that said something like "These women have nothing interesting happening in their own lives to talk or write about until they have children." I don't think that's true, but it made me think. It’s not that nothing was interesting in my life beforehand, I just didn’t have the confidence to write about it. Plus, social media wasn’t really around so no one would have listened. I envy the younger bloggers who were writing before they had children, who already established themselves as interesting on their own. Now that my kids are getting older (I mean, they are not THAT old yet but I see how quickly it goes!), I've been thinking a lot about who I am with and without them. What becomes of my blog? Who is it ultimately about? Maybe it's me.
