What is it about you that moves me? Wine glass broken. Skies overgrown with gray and strips of deep white. We are left out here under the roof of an abandoned garage, a firefighters station quiet yet buzzing with a recent history. We feel you now. We felt you then. All the California fires pulling at each other. All the firemen and women in our home state under that oranged sun, that fired hillside: cutting, fogging, streaming, building against, waiting for the drop. We are in the desert now reminiscing, of these times when young men raged in the mountains, wild days fueled by a young man's mafia, a making of their own. The fires will always continue, as it gets hotter and hotter, this world. We look to our families for solace, that moment we can let go, breathe.
