I stood outside of the Lorraine Motel this week. I stood 10 feet from where he was shot- for being a dreamer, for being loud, for being loving, for being brave, for causing trouble, for being offensive, for believing in the good side, for having faith, for inspiring millions, for taking risks, for being a dreamer, for being a dreamer, for being a dreamer... Why are you waking up tomorrow? What is your dream? Not the dream for yourself- your dream for our home and our human race...
If we all filtered out the things that aren't leading us toward our part in the fruition of that dream, imagine how much faster change would come. But am I willing to be hated, abused, degraded, rejected for my fellow man? Am I really? Are you?
When the power of the grace given to us finally hits my core and humbles me... only then do I understand that i owe everything to that sacrifice. And only then do I feel FREE to run far, jump high, dream big- because I have nothing to lose.
And then I wake up the next day and forget it all and need to be reminded again on days like these...
