Once every 53 days, our Juno spacecraft swings close to Jupiter, speeding over its clouds. In just two hours, Juno travels from a perch over Jupiter’s north pole through its closest approach, then passes over the south pole on its way back out. This sequence shows color-enhanced images from its 8th close pass on Sept. 1, 2017, with the south pole on the left (last image in the sequence) and the north pole on the right (first image in the sequence).
