The 1st memoir I ever read was "I, Tina" ... as a young woman reading about one of my favorite artists of all time being completely candid and raw and honest. It blew me away. Her public transparency (thanks @essence_says for that phrase) was inspiring and encouraged a young sexual assault survivor to live my truth and speak out in hopes of healing myself and offering comfort, guidance and a sense of connectedness to people who are suffering. Thank you Tina Turner for shaping generations of strong, independent, hard working women who stand up for themselves and others. Let us continue to lift her up in the light of goodness. #wcw
