It’s getting harder and harder to see the light and humor in the world. I keep expecting that feeling to dissipate and to go back to business as usual, but it just intensifies. We cannot control natural disasters. But we should be able to control the ability of one American citizen to take out an army of people. A few short weeks ago, we were all denouncing nazis as if that was a controversial political view to put forth. That's how I feel about gun control. How is this divisive? Keep your handgun in your safe if you must. Hang onto your hunting rifle if you think that’s a fun way to spend the afternoon. But can’t we all agree to make background checks more extensive, ban machine guns from use by private citizens and hold gun sellers and manufacturers accountable to what happens with the guns they distribute? You don't want to be held accountable? Don't go into the business of making and selling products that kill people. I know there are probably issues with my arguments but something is wrong in our country and we need to fix it. I really miss the time when I thought adults were in charge taking care of us. And I hope this country is not so far gone that we cannot save it for our children.
