Today marks exactly 8 years since the day I got Blanche. I knew I wanted a dog to take on the road with me so I went to a rescue place to pick out a small dog. When I got there, it was all puppies and this one calm, sad looking dog. The guy said her name was Alaska and that she had been there a few weeks and was a little older than the other dogs. I asked if I could hold her "while I look at the other dogs" and I picked her up and she wrapped her little paws around my arm and that was it. I figured "well, no reason not to take this dog..." I'll admit, I thought I was gonna get a fluffy thing and "Alaska" had short hair and I didn't think she was as cute as I had hoped my new dog would be. But she needed me. I took her right to Petco and I let her pick out a bed and snacks. Then I gave her a bath and she napped, you can see the pictures there. It was then that saw her beauty and I have been in love with her ever since. Ps? The pet store guy was full of it, she is much smaller here than she is now and, forever, had that puppy one ear thing so, yeah, she was a puppy and for years I had assumed I had an elderly dog. Look how small she was! Once I fit her into a KFC XTRA large bucket! LIP! YOU ARE MY LIFE! Thank you for being my faithful road companion for the last 8 years, I just want to give you everything! You are so special to me! You are my angel! I'm sorry I squeeze you so much, but I have to!!
