HUMANS ARE NOT IMMUNE?
Hey guys happy Sunday! By now you probably know that every Sunday I donate my social media to my @YearsofLiving team to talk about carbon pricing! This one is from Ephraim Infante, a senior at Arizona State University's post below. "In elementary school, I first learned about climate change and noticed that the conversation was focused on its impact on the planet and other animals such as pandas, penguins and polar bears. Humans were omitted from the climate equation, as if humans are immune. We are not. We are more dependent on planet Earth than planet Earth is dependent on us. Our climate is changing at increasingly faster rates, and we humans are also consuming more and disposing of materials more rapidly. We are made to believe that we need more and that "new is always better." This false narrative disconnects us from our place in nature, and it also disconnects us from one another. The concept of "voting with your wallet" is a principle that I live by. How we spend our individual dollars says volumes about the conditions of our society.
While it's imperative to vote for policy makers that support climate action, I want to support industries and businesses that feel the same. #PutAPriceOnIt recognizes that climate change is an intersectional issue that requires an intersectional solution. #PutAPriceOnIt offers an equitable solution to climate change and all of its intersections. If we want to hold industries accountable, putting a price on carbon will offer an economic incentive to do so. "
