People gathered in the streets in Mexico City Saturday morning after shaking was felt from an earthquake in southern Mexico. The 6.1 magnitude quake was centered in Oaxaca state near Matias Romero, a town about 275 miles southeast of Mexico City, the US Geological Survey said. Warning sirens sounded in the city after the quake was detected, interrupting rescue operations at some of the dozens of buildings collapsed from Tuesday’s earthquake that killed nearly 300 people.
