Episode 2 of the Ken Burns and Lynn Novick series 'The Vietnam War' featured this image of President John F. Kennedy on the phone at the White House during the time of the steel crisis in 1962. The image was published in the April 27, 1962 article - 'Hail and Hurricane to the Chief.' According to LIFE, "Here is a portrait of a man deep in thought and in action. For him there is no rest; in a critical instant of world history it is his fate—self chosen—to "take arms against a sea of troubles, and by opposing, end them."
