Happy birthday to one of my best friends, @carrierad! To celebrate, here are ten of my favorite moments with you from this last year:
1. All the great talks we had on airplanes. Your honesty always guides me in the right direction, especially when I'm hesitant to take the first step.
2. Running through Heathrow because our plane was late and we were going to miss our connecting flight. THIS WAS SO STRESSFUL. We dealt with unkind people and had our patience tested, but we got through it together and made it on the plane.
3. When coming over to help me "start my garden" meant getting ONE lavender plant from the nursery and calling it a day. I've added more plant friends since then, but that one will always be my favorite.
4. Accidentally riding our bikes through a segment of the Tour de France... completely unprepared. I love that we both had the mindset to keep going, even when the terrain got rough and we had no choice but to laugh at the situation we got ourselves into. Oh, and remember how you fixed my bike chain like a badass?
5. Eating tons of cheese followed by lots of Gas X. ?
6. When we were going to go to a spin class together (which I still haven't done yet, by the way) and ordered pizza instead.
7. Freaking out over all the hot sauce options we had during our last lunch in Houston before our food arrived.
8. Seeing you drive in a foreign country for the first time like a pro.
9. When you took a picture of those potted flowers in Provence and it looked like we were at The Grove. "Is it France or is it The Grove?!"
10. Being genuinely excited about every little thing in France + Texas with you. You make joy easy to share and sink into.
