Monday marks 16 years since nearly 3,000 people died on Sept. 11, 2001, when terrorists flew two planes into New York City’s World Trade Center, a third rammed into the Pentagon and a fourth, destined for Washington, D.C., crashed in Pennsylvania as passengers attempted to overcome the hijackers, killing all aboard. In honoring victims of the attacks and the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, families read aloud the names of those who were killed and moments of silence were observed. Video source: CNN
