Photo by @abbeydrucker **************************** I am so excited and humbled to be honored in this way. People who know me, know that I have a very long and personal connection to the Jewelry industry. My father's manufacturing company produced jewelry such as the Tiffany heart since I was 3 and my first memories were him coming home from his weekly trip to NY with bags of jewelry samples that he was to produce. I'd sit on the floor and play dress up and he would ask me what I liked and what I didn't like and why. He helped me see in a new way, and taught me that jewelry is wearable Art. I worked in his factory as a teenager doing piece-work ( think Lucy in the chocolate factory but it was jewelry not chocolate). I was as talented at that work as Lucy was, but my dad let me do what I could and more importantly learn the process. It led to me, as an adult, spending hours with people like Neil Lane and Martin Katz learning about gems, and learning history i.e. the difference between the Eduardian period and the Georgian. Jewelry designers are my heroes. It is a real passion of mine and I've always had a dream to create a line. This is why the honor means so much to me. It's very personal and really Honors my dad. ??
