I think it was 1994 & my boyfriend-at-the-time who until then hadn't wanted to spend a night apart suddenly started acting all edgy & mysterious and then slipped away leaving me with a Wim Wenders video I'd rented & returning at 2am somewhat dazzled & distracted having dined with Princess Diana & friends. I, too young to know better, wasn't even jealous. I just wanted the stories. And faster music. As always. Memories. Respect to her sons who honour her & also the millions of us who watched awestruck from afar.
