#tbt to when I was 13 and won 3rd place out of 3 people at the Florida Grand Derby Festival. I was beaten by a girl playing Yankee Doodle Dandy on flute and a ventriloquist. Not sure why I didn't sweep the comp based solely on my Morgan Freeman Nehru-collared jacket, Hamilton hair and carefully prepared Bach concerto in, what else?, D minor. One thing was clear though - I am obviously THRILLED about my last place trophy!!! So much so they put me in the paper. #peopleANDplaces
