I'm heartbroken. Today, @ 2 pm, my grandmother passed away. Besides my mom, she was my biggest fan. Drove me to my practices, obsessed over my singing, I lived with her for a while. Long car rides where we sang and even yodeled at the top of our lungs. She never missed watching me compete, any way she could. She was the one who made the move to Montreal possible for me. Whenever a crisis arose, it was always her and my mom who bailed me out or came to my aid. Always made me laugh. I adored her. I love her. Even during her last days, everyone in the hospital and home care knew about me. Such a life filled with caring and passion. For her family, friends, horses and my grandfather. I know that she is free of pain, soaking up the sun in heaven, but m my heart aches for her. Just to be able to tell her one last time that I love her. SO. In honor of my beloved Grams, I am dedicating my Olympic season to her. She is one of only 4 reasons I am even at this place in my life. Her, my mom, my partner Madi, and my determination.
