Photographers from around the world submitted their stunning work in this year’s Nikon Photo Contest. Swipe through to see the 2016-2017 winners.

The first image, captured by @dorteverner, won the award for the Most Popular Entry. With the Nikon D810 and AF-S 24-70mm f/2.8E ED VR NIKKOR lens, she captured a Moken fisherman mid-leap for a dynamic photograph.

The second image was created by @annamariabruni.ph and was awarded the Nikon 100th Anniversary Prize. Bruni used the Nikon D800 and AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G lens to photograph her friend’s grandmother sitting in a darkened living room with a small patch of light streaming through the window. Softness, contrast, light and dark are used to tell her story.

In the third image, Tian Yuan Yuan of China showcases workers in an iron factory, silhouetted through the smoke in the rays of light. This powerful image was awarded The Nikon Photo Contest Grand Prize.
