The Mother of the Sea has been written by Laura O'Driscoll.  Beautiful and moving poem of the sea women of Jeju island in Korea. Quite extraordinary, since the 17th-century women have been diving in the Jeju island as a part of their livelihoods of their families.

Today, the sea woman who continues to honour the tradition are 60-80-year-olds.

Mijoo Kim is an amazing young female photographer who captured the sea women last year.  She has given permission to YY to feature her images with the poem.
