“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character,” said Martin Luther King, Jr. 54 years ago on Aug. 28, 1963 at the March on Washington.
.
The daughter of the civil rights leader stood beside her father's newly unveiled statue Monday, just a few blocks from where he grew up in #Atlanta. A replica of the nation's Liberty Bell tolled three times before the 8-foot bronze statue was unveiled on the anniversary of King's "I have a dream" speech.
.
King's statue was erected in his Southern hometown at a time when monuments honoring Civil War Confederates are coming down in many other places across the South.
