August 26th is Gender Equality Day, a celebration of the signing of the pivotal 19th amendment. And it's in support of gender equality, all equality really, that Eddie Bauer guide @melissaarnot and her mentee @mountain.maddie are currently traveling across Colorado by bike to climb the high peaks.•

What is #equalisgreater? It is the idea that balance is the goal. And it is a conversation we are hoping to have over the next 3 weeks and 150,000 feet of vertical climbing/500 miles on our bikes. We have both had the most positive experiences in outdoors and sports when we are in mixed gender and diverse groups. Diversity teaches us things we can't learn in any other way. What if your adventures could include equal mixes of gender as well as varied racial, cultural and economic backgrounds? I have learned the most in my life from spending time around people who are different from me, it's the gift the globe gives us. We are setting out to challenge ourselves and dig deeper into ways to encourage equality in all ways.
