Vevo: You’re a classically trained pianist. Can you tell us how you got your start?

@ellavos: Yeah, I started playing piano when I was five, and studied classical piano performance throughout college. But I wanted to do something more creative. So, I joined an indie-rock band and started learning how to tour and perform. I had this dream of becoming a songwriter, but didn’t have the guts to do it yet.
Then I joined the band @BornsMusic, and I was like, “oh, this is great, this is my dream” … But then I found out I was a pregnant, which was depressing because I had an expiration date with the band.
But it also made me decide what I wanted to do, because I couldn’t be a touring musician. So, when I was 10 months pregnant I made it a point to go for it and be a songwriter.
